Retrospective 2025

Together with the Province of South Holland, thirteen municipalities, environmental services, entrepreneurs and educational institutions, a lot of hard work has been done over the past year to implement the Green Heart Circular Action Plan, which accelerates the transition to a circular economy on a regional level and complements/reinforces other circular initiatives in the Green Heart.

  • Thirteen municipalities, 2 provinces and ca.120 companies now participate in the action lines (Chain collaborations, etc.)
  • 9 business associations participated in concrete CE offerings for businesses. Collaboration with Blauwzaam, EDBA and DPG has begun.
  • About 80 substantive and regional meetings were organized in the Green Heart, linked to the action lines and in cooperation with regional partners.

In 2025, the focus was on: Intensified cooperation and the development of a concrete offer

  • With clusters of companies (chain collaborations in wood, metal, W + E, construction, green resources, agriculture)
  • With LEADER (LAGs): willow farming and biotech meetings in the Green Heart
  • With Rabobank, focused on a knowledge center and decentralized Loket CE for entrepreneurs in the Green Heart with demand-driven products and services
  • With NMU and Circle Alliance Utrecht on CSRI, Repair & Life Extension, among others, and with Circular Friesland on CSRI, among others
  • With Campus Nxt and Greenport West-Holland for a Human Capital Part Agreement Circular Economy
  • Concrete offerings have been developed for entrepreneurs from chain projects (construction, roadside clippings, wood, metal, W+E)
  • Concrete offerings have been developed for municipalities in the areas of CSRI, Consumer Campaigns, Space for CE policy

Speaking at the closing annual meeting on Dec. 3, journalist Floor Milikowski, who has recently written a book about pioneers, future builders and the Netherlands of tomorrow, called ”The Contours of a New Country,” spoke. Following in the footsteps of pioneers and progressives, she sees how a more sustainable, social and connected society is gradually emerging. The undercurrent of local and regional sustainable initiatives is more powerful than we often think, and if we say ”yes” to and enable great initiatives a little more often, we will naturally fill out the circular transition! With this inspiring message, we hope to make a difference with you again next year!
