Province of South Holland helps entrepreneurs with circular business

Doing business with waste streams or renewable materials sounds appealing, but practice often proves complicated. Permits, legislation and administrative rules can be quite a bump. This is exactly why there is now the Circular Loket Zuid-Holland: the starting point for entrepreneurs who want to get started with circular raw materials, products or experiments.

Free and independent advice

At the counter, entrepreneurs and associations in South Holland can ask all their legal and administrative questions about circular entrepreneurship. Specialists from the South Holland environmental services provide free, independent, customized advice. This saves entrepreneurs precious time and energy in their search for the right procedures and permits, and allows them to focus on what really matters: doing business and making an impact.

For whom.

The counter is there for anyone who wants to do circular business: from start-ups and SMEs to large organizations. Whether you’re just starting out and want to know what’s possible, or are just stuck in a complicated permit application: the Circular Counter will help you along. After submitting a question, you will hear immediately what the expected turnaround time is, depending on the complexity.

Here’s how it works

Asking a question is easyVia this form your question will go directly to one of the South Holland environmental services. There, a specialist is ready to help you personally.

Why a circular counter?

The transition to a circular society requires smarter use of raw materials. Residual streams and renewable materials play a major role in this. But because laws and regulations still focus heavily on the linear economy – in which products are discarded at the end of their useful life – circular entrepreneurs often run into complicated rules.

With the Circular Loket, province and municipalities together with the five South Holland environmental services, led by the DCMR, are removing these barriers. Moreover, business owners’ questions provide valuable insights that can help adjust or better explain rules.

Collaboration

The Circular Loket Zuid-Holland is a collaboration between the province of South Holland, the South Holland municipalities, BlueCity and the 5 environmental services. It is an extension of the Rotterdam Circular Counter that was set up in 2021 by the City of Rotterdam and the DCMR.
