Manufacturing

The manufacturing industry, a major contributor to South Holland’s economy, faces the challenge of remaining resilient with increasing pressure on raw materials and commodities. The sector uses large quantities of metals and alloys, whose security of supply and prices are coming under pressure from geopolitical factors. Critical materials are also needed for the products demanded by the energy transition, such as batteries, solar panels, wind turbines and hydrogen electrolyzers. To remain competitive, the manufacturing industry must seize opportunities to (re)use raw materials and materials more efficiently and at a higher value.
