Green Feedstocks<\/h1><\/div>

All plant and animal streams are biomass, from agricultural crops to wood, from reed clippings to animal manure, from food to wastewater. Biomass is at the heart of the circular economy and contributes significantly to the reduction of (fossil) resources (50% by 2030, 100% by 2050). It is used not only for food production, but also as a renewable raw material for medicines, building materials and transport fuels. <\/p>\n

Agriculture (including livestock and horticulture) is an important sector in the Green Heart, but agricultural entrepreneurs are under pressure from all sides. The Green Heart is investigating how to close cycles in agriculture, focusing on circular and regenerative land use, preventing food waste, stimulating short chains and making optimal use of residual flows such as manure and plant residues. Governments, such as provinces and municipalities, and agricultural entrepreneurs also play an important role in this as ”producers” of biomass, such as roadside clippings, reed clippings, horticultural residues, wood and organic waste. <\/p>\n
